When people ask me why I started to make lighting sometimes I talk about wanting to marry simple designs with honest materials. Or I drone on about shortening the supply chain and allowing people to buy directly from a craftsperson. But really, the reason I started making lighting is that I couldn’t afford the fancy lights that I liked. I saw a beautiful lamp in a trendy vintage shop in the summer of 2014 with a simple marble base and a squat drum shade. I couldn’t afford it, but I thought I could probably build it. I did, I may have even improved it a bit, and here it is. For a much lower price ;)
-Solid, white marble base
- White linen shade with diffuser
-In-line switch located 8" down the cord
-Two e12 (candelabra) sockets are each rated for 75 watt max
-Fixture measures 6" x 6" x 20 1/2"
-Shade measures 5" x 14"

Like most small lighting shops, our fixtures are not UL listed. We recommend consulting a licensed electrician familiar with your local electrical codes before using or installing any new light fixture. As with life, be gentle. Don't use any harsh chemicals. If left untouched, brass will darken and develop a patina with age. If you feel the need to brighten your brass to it's original hue, you can use a gentle metal polish. I recommend a product called Brasso, which can be found at your local hardware store.
I work hard to keep the lead-times listed on Etsy as up to date as possible. You can find these at the top of the "shipping and policies" tab. Unless you are otherwise notified, your order will ship within the listed timeline.

Well, okay! My fixtures are made form solid brass brass that is not lacquered. The brass is polished by hand, and then covered in a thin layer of artisanal microcrystalline wax (Theres a $10 word for ya). This leaves the fixture with a deep, matte luster.
Thank you so much for showing me some love! Please blog about my studio - it makes me feel so good!! Buuuut, unfortunately I cannot offer free product in exchange.
